Dr. Marissa Brockway-Albanese was born and raised in Central New York. She spent summers on her family’s dairy farm helping care for calves and developing a love for animals. At home, she grew up with rabbits, a guinea pig, and dogs. Being around animals was undeniably a happy place for her and she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from an early age. Dr. Brockway-Albanese was also actively involved in color guard and winter guard throughout high school.

Dr. Brockway-Albanese earned her undergraduate degrees in Veterinary Technology and Biology from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. During this time, she was seasonally employed as a Veterinary Assistant at Veterinary Medical Center of Central New York. She then attended Lincoln Memorial University – College of Veterinary Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee for her veterinary education. Following vet school, Dr. Brockway-Albanese pursued a career in small animal emergency veterinary medicine at VMC of CNY. Dr. Brockway-Albanese has always had a passion for the fast-paced world of emergency medicine.

Dr. Brockway-Albanese met her husband during her undergraduate education in Buffalo, New York and they settled down in Central New York. Dr. Brockway-Albanese also has a cat named “Penelope” that has been her buddy throughout vet school and beyond.

Dr. Brockway-Albanese’s personal interests include crocheting and traveling.

Fun facts about Dr. Brockway-Albanese:

1. She has traveled to France, Italy, England, and St. Lucia.

2. She loves ziplining and kayaking.

3. She has repelled down the side of a castle in Assisi, Italy.

4. Her favorite show is Criminal Minds and her cat, Penelope, is named after one of her favorite characters!
